STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS OF COMPUTER-BASED LANGUAGE TEST (CBLT) AND VALIDATION OF CBLT-LISTENING QUESTIONNAIRE USING EXPLORATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS

Background and Purpose: One of the difficulties that emerged during online learning was teaching listening skills which prompted development an platform, Computer-based Language Test (CBLT), to assist educators conduct practices assessment with students without experiencing geographical limitations. As this is a novel paper intends examine students’ perceptions after utilising platform using developed CBLT-Listening Questionnaire.
 
 Methodology: This cross-sectional quantitative study employed questionnaires collect data from diploma students. Two-stage sampling utilised whereby first stage used stratified random in selecting classes twenty-three (23) branches university. Simple practised second yielded 410 responses. The were subjected descriptive exploratory factor analyses (EFA) SPSS.
 Findings: Descriptive analysis revealed respondents find difficult skill acquire yet view CBLT excellent initiative for distance learning. EFA items Listening construct significant be retained. However, results reported one item Online Distance Learning needs deleted questionnaire.
 Contributions: validated CBLT-S Questionnaire serves as instrument investigate impact (CBLT) on students' evidenced platforms incorporate are viewed positively by pedagogy language teaching.
